Caravelas Beach | Buzios

Open sea

Perhaps the most distant from the beaches of the Center. It is within the Búzios Environmental Protection Area, APA do Pau-Brasil. The main visitors are the guests of the hotels and local residents who have on this beach, which there are a restaurant and volleyball net.

Port of the Portuguese caravels

Caravelas Beach got its name because there, the navigator Américo

Vespucci would have landed in 1503. The French smuggled brazilwood

with the help of Tupinambás because the French, unlike the Portuguese,

they did not demonstrate colonial ambition, but only commercial desire.

Wild nature

The limit of the Caravelas beach is outlined by rocky shores, the vegetation

around it is a low vegetation with small bushes, its sands are orange with some mixed shells and the blue and translucent sea enchants. A point of reference for this beach is a cross almost in the center of the beach.

Surf Peak

With its rough sea, surfing is a good option for entertainment in Caravelas.

And other sports, such as frescobol, volleyball, hiking.

Infrastructure

Caravelas beach belonged to the local resort and is now also open

to the public. In the middle of two hills, it is and almost private, and still has

volleyball net and sun loungers available for free, plus two kiosks.

It's really worth it!
